The 7th Release from this Austin Based Trio of Veteran Musicians. The first under the Band name “Grouchy Like Riley”. Marvin, Danny, and Chip are joined by musicians Brad Houser (The New Bohemians) on Bass and Robb Kidd (Golden Dawn Arkestra and Pike and Sutton) on Drums. This CD was largely recorded and mixed at MoonHouse Studio in Austin, TX by Chris Gage (Jerry Jeff Walker, Roy Clark, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and many others).
The project was Mastered by Fred Remmert (The Dixie Chicks and many others) at Magdelena Studio in Austin, TX.
The songs are written by some combination of Dolan, Dykhuis, and Britt. Exceptions are Britt joined by Jon Ims, of Nashville songwriter fame, on Home to Stay and Do Me like That. The one cover song – Ain't No Berry - was written by friend Steve Callif. Marvin and Chip just finished producing a new CD with Tish Hinojosa.
Everything's Fine is about making it when everything goes bad. Keep going. It's all gonna be fine.
Matters Most is all about the simple things in life and how important they are.
Can't Get Off Right Now – You bought this ticket and you have to keep riding. You can't get off right now.
Ain't No Berry is paying homage to the great Chuck Berry
Do Me Like That is undefined love of what one person does to another.
If I'd Only Seen You Coming The “Mooch”
Choose Love is a ska tinged tune about the world today and the power of love.
Home to Stay is the story of finding love while being a touring musician and traveling the road.
Gotta Go Bonnie and Clyde-esque boogie woogie
Worry Bout Me is about bouncing back from a failed romance
Riley's Reprise is closing out the project while thinking of the band namesake piano great Riley Osbourn. The Band was joined by Scottish Harmonica Great Spider MacKenzie on this track.
